14 Simple Ways to Relax during your pregnancy in under 5 Minutes
Let’s face it, becoming pregnant is not easy on our body or as a Mom (or future mom) and life can be really stressful at times.
Everything around us, as well as inside of us is constantly changing and the worst part is:
There is nothing we can do about it!
I often find that we don’t have a lot of time to relax between morning (all day) sickness, tail-bone pain and other pregnancy side effects.
Gracefully, there are many different fabulous ways for you to cool down during your free time. You need to find a way to relax, so try out some of these awesome activities.
#1 My favorite: Drink Peppermint Tea
You may have never tried Peppermint tea before but it contains stress relieving agents which can calm you down in minutes!
Having a quick cup of Peppermint tea will most likely help you to relax. As well as help you control your weight!
#2 Add some Dark Chocolate
If you ever thought chocolate was bad for you, now is your lucky day. Studies have shown that dark chocolate can reduce the chance of getting diabetes. Now here is a reason for you to grab 2 bars, just make sure it’s Dark chocolate!
#3 Chewing Gum
Who would have thought of that? Chewing gum can be relaxing and healthy at the same time? Now here an very inexpensive and quick way to relax during your day.
Best if you find a minute and sit down while you chew the gum, let your mind wonder and just enjoy some free time and good tasting bubble gum.
It wasn’t to long ago when I tried this out and believe it or not this actually helps! Try it out for yourself and see if you can relax
#5 Get some Sunlight
Sunlight. I get shivers when I hear that word. I absolutely love sunlight. It fills you up with vitamin D, boost’s your mood and makes you look better.
Just don’t overdue it and stay within your limits so you don’t risk getting a sunburn.
#6 Try to take a power nap
Now this is a tricky one. How many times did you tell yourself “It’s only going to take 5 minutes” and then woke up hours later?
If you are really short on time set your alarm clock or ask a friend to wake you up!
#7 Get some Exercise
Exercising is just an amazing hobby and will both help you tone your body and reduce stress.
You don’t have to be a pro either.
#8 Give yourself a Massage
You might not be in a suitable are to practice some exercises, but here is a way to relax in under 5 minutes and do it all by yourself!
Tip: Show this chart to your significant other and let him massage you!
#9 Try some simple Stretches
Stretching is known to reduce muscle tension and enhance muscular coordination as well as having an effect that calms you down.
Mix it up with the breathing exercise and relax yourself away!
#10 Get a Stress ball!
Ever made a stress ball for your kid, friend or relative? If not, take 5 minutes to create one for yourself. The process of making them will already calm you down and the squeezing afterwards can help you relax in a matter of seconds!
#11 Take a Quick Walk
Taking a beautiful walk outside has more then one benefit. Enjoy the wonderful sunshine and calming wind. Let your mind drift somewhere else!
Tip: Look for some nice trails and a beautiful day if you have more then 5 minutes to spare.
#12 Try Singing!
Common, being pregnant let’s you find an excuse for everything!
Weather you have a beautiful voice or sound like a old rusted trumped, the benefits of it stay the same!
Keep calm and sing on.
#13 Ever tried Aromatherapy?
Essential oils have a great reputation to relieve stress and help relaxing in a variety of situations. Only downside is that it can take more then 5 minutes if your not disciplined enough to know when to stop. There are so many flavors to choose from it’s almost impossible to try them all.
#14 Laugh away
Laughing is the best medicine, often said. I will always remember my mother when she used joke around and to say:
“You will cry as hard as your laughing right now”
Find some time to laugh at yourself, we all to funny and embarrassing things during the day. Laugh about it rather then letting it get to you
To sum it all up:
Find time to relax during your crazy adventure of your pregnancy isn’t always easy. But if you have the right activities and a little bit of time on your hand then these a few ideas that you should definitely try out.
